Since performing my first wedding in 2008, I've gone on to perform at hundreds of weddings across the Midlands and beyond. Today, I DJ at more than 50 weddings every year across Worcestershire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Birmingham, the West Midlands, Herefordshire and the Cotswolds.

For me, being a wedding DJ is about much more than simply turning up and playing a playlist.

It's about understanding the couple, getting the music right, reading the room and creating the atmosphere that gets everyone from your grandparents to your mates onto the dancefloor.

My Journey As A Wedding DJ​

2008 – My First Wedding

I performed my first wedding after a friend asked me to DJ their reception.

That night changed everything.

I loved the atmosphere, the emotion of the first dance and, most importantly, seeing everyone come together on the dancefloor.

I knew pretty quickly that weddings were something I wanted to focus on.

2014 – Specialising In Weddings

After several years of DJing in bars, clubs and events, I made the decision to specialise in wedding entertainment.

Rather than trying to be everything to everyone, I wanted to concentrate on becoming really good at one thing that is  creating incredible wedding evening partys.

2017 – Investing In Event Production

I invested in the best sound, intelligent lighting and LED dancefloor equipment to take the overall wedding experience to another level.

2018 – Building Wedding Venue Partnerships

I continued to build relationships with wedding venues across the Midlands and became a recommended supplier at a growing number of venues.

2019 – My First Destination Wedding

I performed my first destination wedding in Spain, opening the door to providing wedding entertainment outside the UK.

2020 – A Very Different Year

Like everyone working in the wedding / hospitality industry, 2020 brought weddings to a complete standstill.

Although it wasn't the year anyone planned for, it gave me the opportunity to work on the business, invest in equipment and prepare for weddings returning.

2021 – The Wedding Boom

When weddings finally returned, it was an incredible year.

Couples had waited months and, in some cases, years to celebrate, and I was lucky enough to be part of some amazing wedding days.

2022 – £10,000+ Equipment Investment

I invested more than £10,000 into professional audio, lighting and event production equipment, continuing to improve the quality of the service I provide.

2023 – Back To Destination Weddings

I headed overseas again, performing destination weddings in Italy while continuing to build the wedding side of the business here in the UK.

Today

Today, I'm proud to perform at more than 50 weddings every year across the Midlands and beyond.

I'm still investing in the business, still meeting new couples and, most importantly, still genuinely enjoying what I do.

From Speed Garage To Wedding DJ

Music has always been a huge part of my life, but what I enjoy most isn't simply playing songs.

It's creating the moments your guests remember long after the wedding is over.

My first-ever DJ gig was at a local bar in my hometown of Stourbridge, playing a genre I never imagined would become part of my career.. Speed Garage.

Probably not the soundtrack most couples are looking for for their first dance!

But every DJ has to start somewhere. It didn't take long for me to realise that sticking to one style of music wasn't going to get me very far. So I developed into a versatile, multi-genre DJ, playing everything from commercial chart hits and dance classics to Motown, Indie, Rock, R&B, Soul and party anthems.

That led to DJ residencies at venues and nightclubs across Wolverhampton, Stourbridge, Birmingham and the wider Midlands.

Those years behind the decks taught me much more than just music selection.

They taught me how to read a crowd - How to use a microphone- How to build an atmosphere, and, most importantly, how to understand what makes people want to get up and dance.

Those skills have become a huge part of what I bring to weddings today.

Why I Love DJing Weddings

There is something completely different about a wedding compared with a normal night out.

You're not just playing music to a room full of people.

You're providing the soundtrack to one of the biggest days of someone's life.

From the moment the first dance starts to the final song of the night, there are so many moments that matter.

That's why I take the time to get to know my couples before the wedding.

I want to know what music you love.

What songs mean something to you.

What your friends will dance to.

What your parents will love.

And, equally importantly, what songs you absolutely don't want to hear!

The best wedding playlists aren't simply a list of songs.

They're a reflection of the couple and the people they've invited to celebrate with them.

A Wedding DJ Who Reads The Dancefloor

One of the biggest things I've learned over the years is that you can't plan every moment of a wedding evening.

You can have your must-play list, your favourite artists and your perfect first dance, but once the party starts, you have to read the room.

That's where my experience as a DJ really comes into play.

Whether your guests are into Motown, Soul, Indie, Rock, R&B, 90s classics, Dance Anthems, Garage, House Music or today's chart hits, I'll adapt the music to the people in front of me.

If the dancefloor is going off, we'll keep it going.

When I'm not DJing at weddings, I'm usually doing something connected to the business – meeting couples, planning upcoming weddings, updating playlists, investing in new equipment or visiting venues.

Running a wedding DJ business while having a family of my own has probably made me appreciate weddings even more.
